BLYTHE, Calif. - Palo Verde Hospital (PVH) received "Deemed Status" certification from the state's Department of Health Services (DHS) after Jan. 9 follow-up visit.

Acting on a report received in March 2013, DHS began a series of unannounced visits to Palo Verde Hospital, one in July 2013, another in September 2013, and the final visit in January 2014. DHS oversees institutions eligibility requirements necessary to receive government money in the form of Medicare and Medicaid. The "Conditions of Participation" guidelines are set by federal standards.

"I want the public to know that the complaints made were a result from previous administration issues," said President Trina Sartin. "We are working hard to make sure things are in place."

"All managers, physicians, and staff actively participated in helping us to ensure we retained 'Deemed Status'," said CEO Sandra Anaya. "We are proud of the success. Thank you."
