BLYTHE - Riverside County District Attorney's office arrested Palo Verde Health Care District Board Director Sandra Hudson at her home Monday afternoon. Officials took her into custody on a $320,000 arrest warrant issued today by Judge Richard Erwood.

Riverside County D.A.'s office charged Hudson with one felony count of a government code 1090 violation, which makes it a criminal violation for elected officials, including elected members of special districts such as the Palo Verde Hospital, to have a financial interest in any contract made by them in their official capacity.

As of yet, details for this arrest have not been made public by the Riverside County D.A.'s office. So it is unknown, exactly, what led to today's arrest.

Hudson served two years on Palo Verde Health Care District Board from 2008-2010. She lost re-election in 2010 and was elected back onto the board in 2012.

Hudson was released on bail Monday evening.

You either have some inside information to try and insinuate that Sandra had no interest in the Property rented to Sahlolbei.
Having or not having community property interest is not at issue.
Under Government Code 1090 a person holding office is not to vote on a contract when they or their "spouse" have a financial interest with the person or Corporation who would benefit from that contract.
Does not matter if it is community or separate property!

@Just a Thought, Blythe deserves a decent hospital. The Hospital has ALWAYS been a problem as far back as I can remember. And when in management one does have to cut back employees and thier salaries if need. AGAIN as I mentioned I do not know all the facts. But what I do know in the State of California is a community property state. In a a community property state if a spouse releases their community property interest through a grant deed/quit claim deed that non-titled spouse has no interest in the subject property. AGAIN my point is simply the name calling and judging from the towns people is a very poor reflection for the town. I feel that Blythe has bigger proplems to address and over come than what appears to be a witch hunt.

TO ALL ABOUT JUDGING: No, it is not something to celebrate. It is a tragedy. We should mourn the people who have been injured by the evil at PVH. We should mourn our community which has been torn apart by the cancer at its hospital. We should mourn seemingly good people like Trina and Sam and, even Sandy, who have let themselves be guided by dark forces--whatever their source.

I am certain the sword of justice has only begun to strike at those who, for whatever reason, have confused narrow personal interest with what is best for Blythe. When that happens we should not celebrate the fall of our neighbors. We should celebrate the triumph of justice.

@Phantom:True Dat Powerful and destructive as we watch this play out. Millions have been wasted/stolen.

Tupac was a poet, and a good one. He considered people like Sandy a part of the problem, if not THE problem. She probably thinks the same of him. That old ignorant and arrogant problem again.

I wish some of you had some original thoughts once in a while. I'm tired of reading innocent until proven guilty. That's not true, if you did it you are guilty, no matter if you have not been found guilty. This isn't a court of law. She had interest by way of being married to the owner of a house that was rented to S. She, as a board member voted on his contract for services. THAT'S AGAINST THE LAW. Jeez. This was made public knowledge a while ago. She has abstained from voting on his contract but she had already committed a crime prior to that. This isn't something she didn't know, it's in the contract that she signed when she was elected to the board. Her ability to fool people is astounding. The love of money is truly the root of all evil.

@Anna I couldn't agree with you more about the drug problem in our town but when we have to greedy people taking money from our hospital and puts it in danger of closing down and cutting the employees hours or even letting them gobbecause of money issues then it becomes a big problem because where you or anyone else going to go when your sick or in case of an emergency? Just a thought

For those who are new here. Yes, the negativity expressed here. But, after 10 years of all this same mess maybe different people (except one) from time to time, but the same result, we are tired of feeling insecure about going here. It's tyranny, is what it clearly is. I double-dare you to attend at least two hospital board meetings and it should be obvious. You won't see the under-the-table stuff going on, but watch, and listen. It's easy. After all these years, we are elated to see justice finally coming. Yes, they are "innocent" until proven guilty. We know that. If, by some skulldugery, they get off, I truly fear for this town. Check the meetings. Be sure to take a barf bag, though. You may need it the way these meetings are, and have been run for ten years.

I'm not sure of all the facts but no one is guilty until proven in a court of law. Don't understand how people judge and get off on other peoples misfortunes ~ very sad in my eyes. Law enforcement, The PVVT and the people of Blythe should be more concerned about all the illegal drug use and other crimes besides conflict of interest!

Yeah greed for sure. Power to terminate contracts and create new to make money off it. You will never hear a surgeon controls anesthesia contracts. But not in Blythe. With Hudson and Trina on the board, Sahlobei controls that and makes money.. And then he shares some with them. (deleted)

This town has judge others quickly. I have seen so much hate towards hospital employees. This is rule of the town, we have to comment. As for Sandy Hudson, she knew all along what is coming, but she choose to ignore.
(deleted). So these are the compliment for her. Let's see what's next... Trina? This is really something to celebrate.

I have 15 years experience in Medical Staff Services, as well as physician recruitment and contracting. I tried to warn her, but she wouldn't listen and then blocked me on Facebook. Maybe she should have listened after all.
