COLUMN: If I were king...
Bob Weete
Bob Weete
Bob Weete

Well, I was half-way through with my column for this week, and then I watched Huckabee on television. The program was about totally ridiculous situations involving children who have been suspended from school for a period of time under "no tolerance" rules at various schools across the country.

We really need to be aware of these and other "transformations" being made that truly are pretty far out and are actually destroying what used to be a country of guaranteed freedoms. Most of you have, I hope, heard about the child who was suspended for eating his tart into the form of a gun. There is another one dealing with a child who, lifting his thumb, and pointing his index finger while curling the other fingers in. He then, like we have all done, pretended to "shoot" it as a gun. A girl got in trouble with a "bubble gun" for crying out loud. This in America!

They were suspended. Others, in middle school, were suspended from school for wearing T-shirts that had NRA on them. SUSPENDED. And I guess the students with other T-shirts with the F word on them or some other "questionable" expression of freedom of speech, were okay.

What is happening to our society? Are we all drinking the infamous "Kool-Aid" that makes us crazy and takes away our common sense?

"Oh," we say. "That is not happening in our schools." We don't have to be concerned about that kind of stuff here. Well, these types of things hadn't happened in those schools before, either.

Surely you have heard that the "regime" has really jumped into the government "closures" that are, in my thinking, anyway, designed to deliberately incite Americans. The parks are shut down. First, they closed the White House tours and upset quite a few people. Why? I don't know; they didn't do that the last time the government had to close down.

The furor has been even louder when veterans from WWII were denied entrance to the open-air memorial. Nobody is paid to run that, it's open for visiting any time of the day or night, but now they are paying guards to keep people from visiting this memorial. The guardrails cost somebody, were taken, and veterans have been threatened with arrest.

Another story on Huckabee involved a tour guide who was told that the people, some of whom were from foreign countries, were not to take any pictures of Yellowstone. They were ordered to get back on the bus and go back to their hotel, and stay there. They were not allowed to take pictures of Old Faithful, for crying out loud, which was within walking distance of their hotel.

Some of these people had spent quite a bit of money to get there from North Korea, Australia, and England.

Some vacation spots - hotels and restaurants on land leased from the government - were blocked off, and people were not allowed to go there. Managers and owners were forced to give refunds and of course the income was lost from restaurants and other vendors.

Various states have volunteered to pay for opening these parks, but "Big Brother" has stepped in and denied the offer. Thousands of dollars of revenue have been lost, not including the money potential visitors spent to get there.

There are many more stories of this "gestapo-like" behavior, as it was called, out there. The question is, "Why?"

Well, my guess is this, and I am certain many of you will say I've gone off the deep end, but with history being what it has been, we ought not to jump too quickly. If I were a person who wanted to bring down the greatest country in the world and to take control, I think I would fire people up into frenzy. I'd ram a very complex "health care" down their throats, I would re-teach the people away from being independent and make them dependent on "gifts" from the glorious government, and I would strike at the very core of their character, their traditions, their God, their Constitution.

I would get me at least one well-oiled American Communist, say, George Soros, to finance my elections and other of my needs.

Then, when people get frustrated enough, they, being Americans whose beginnings involved a revolution against a tyrannical king, would eventually say, "Stop!" That would then "require" me to declare martial law, "to protect our country" and that would be the end of America.

I would have already fooled enough people into thinking I am "on their side", and I would have millions of imported people from other countries to help, and millions of other people I have convinced that they need me and would be loyal to me.

By this time, I would already have key people situated in key places where I knew I could rely on their dedication to my plans and they knew they would be rewarded appropriately.

And the rest will be history.

@ I was Wrong when.... Funny if you are right. Then i guess Obama has not learn anything, from past history. So what makes him better than those past presidents?

Look at Obama's past record. Look at it without taking sides, and then make up your mind.

He is the worst of the worst. He is worst than Sticky Buns, not talking about the one's you eat.

I was wrong when I voted for Reagan and he started the assualt in organized labor and implemented "trickle down" economics.... It barely trickled... Plus his policies led to the collapse of the savings and loans institution and we can forget Iran/Contra affair where he knowingly violated the law and appointed his vp to lead a covert war in central America. And don't forget his mass amnesty of illegal immigrants that destroyed middle class jobs when they were most needed.
I was wrong when I voted for Bush senior who continued with the trickle and saw our economy continue to falter and sink into debt.
Iwas wrong to have voted for clinton who brought a period of growth and prosperity but fooled around too much and foolishly removed the final regulations separating commercial and investment banks... The birth of too big to fail. It was Republican created legislation though.
I was wrong to vote for Bush junior who threw us into Irag out of anger over 19 Saudies attacking us and horrible judgement with cherry picked intelligence information. No WMDs ever existed. There was no Al Queda there either. Then his staff outs a deep cover operative who developed and ran intelligence networks. That set the CIA back ten years as methods were revealed and agents learned they and their families were politically expendable if you gave the politically wrong type of intelligence. Then we watched as due to further deregulation, our banks collapse and the burden is placed on what is left of the middle class to pay the true consequence of enormously bad leadership for 8 years.
I was wrong, maybe you were to. But I can't imagine ever being a Republican again. Tired of the wars, the bad economies, the trickle down mentality, and the assualt on American labor.

Too much Kool-Aid is being consumed in the state. Transgendered can pick any restroom they want, have drivers licenses for illegals, bullet trains going to nowhere, Crosses taken down while Mosques are being built.

Its funny you can spew all the hate you want but if you mention welfare or people on the dole(democrats), you might get deleted.

El Pica for president, hard to believe but he would be an improvement.

It's embarrassing that the PV Times continues to give you an outlet for your ridiculous rants, both for you and the Newspaper. While (deleted)is writing Op-Ed pieces about how bad Blythe's hospital is, somehow you're allowed to keep spewing this borderline hate-speech garbage. Disgraceful.

And North Korean tourists? Get a clue.

Here's a question to think about:

When these things fail to come to pass, will you be a big enough man to admit that you were wrong?

Somehow, I doubt it.

@ What are You talking about. You mean? The radical anarchists hippie kids protesting wars. Was it not Soros, and his merrie group of bombers, that killed a police officer. You mean those. Soros did he not bankroll Obamas election?

A black democrat with an Arabic sounding name as president. Arabic sounding name? It is Arabic. That is why he did not want them to use Hussein, while he was running for President.

So why, did his Family on his mother side set him up with role models of the socialist persuasion. In the Academia Field. If I was like those people that believe in conspiracies.

I would think that obama was the perfect Manchurian Candidate. But that would have taken many decades of preparation in advance. What is the name of that movie? The Omen. Yes the Omen. So how does the story line go?

Yes I'm nuts. I'm just saying. hahaha or is hehehe? But no matter. Other than the Manchurian, and the Omen.you still have to wonder.

Obamas maternal grandparents who actually played a role raising him..... Grandfather was a US NAVY WW2 vEteran hero...... Grandmother was a banking executive in a time where women were barely accepted in the work force.
Doesn't sound very socialist.
There was a time when the radical anarchists were hippie kids protesting wars. Today they are now calling themselves republican conservatives who cannot accept years of failed republican policies but even worse they cannot accept a black democrat with an Arabic sounding name as president. There is an underlying hatred in it all fed with misinformation and distortion of facts. That is why the republican party will continue to disintegrate. People see it for what it is becoming, an irrational party filled with hate willing to destroy everything and anyone to achieve its goal.

@---At el Pica. Yes you are right. It was the republicans, that gave a bunch of illegals the run of the Mall in D.C.

This president hates the U.S. military, did you not see when he wanted to do his own private military. Obama started a war with the Church, with obama-care.

On his father's side they are all muslims in Kenya, and on his mother's side they are all socialist. So with that recipe you say you have the best president, we have ever had?

Did you not also see when he said that he would make sure that gasoline, would go up in price so people would stop driving. Did he not say that he would make sure all coal plants would go out of business due to regulations.

My friend stay off the magic mushrooms.

The "minority"? What world are you living in? Something like 85 percent of americans already had health care before obamacare. Last time I looked 85 percent of people using the old system was the majority not a minority. An a fair percentage of those uninsured qualified for government programs before Obamacare became the law of the land and another fair amount of the people uninsured are young adults that do not want healthcare because they are hardly ever sick and know that they are money ahead just paying what few medical bills they have. Now with obamacare they really do not need insurance because all pre existing conditions are covered so they can wait till they have a major illness and then go sign up for health insurance. Real smart plan there by our politicians isn't it!

Your right, veterans get treated poorly in this mess. But whose fault is that? The president or those who claim to be Republicans who are using our veterans and so many other Americans as pawns in a political game to blackmail the president and the country to give into their demands. They aren't republicans or conservatives. They are anarchists willing to see it all burn unless they achieve their goals. Most veterans are middle class or poor working folks. Or they came from those backgrounds. I doubt they would want to see it all burn down simply because the government sees the health industry is failing our country and is trying to create system that will serve the majority rather than only the well to do minority.
By the way this president has done more to improve care for veterans, more to honor our veterans than any president has in a long time. It ain't perfect but it's getting better. He's done so in large part by keeping us out of more wars and remaining committed to ending the ones he inherited.

If I were King, everyone would be riding on a unicorn, and dancing up-top Rainbows, and walking hand in hand to the Magical Lollipop Store.

But I can't do that because Obama is now the new King. You know his Highness closed D.C. down, but he opened the Mall for a bunch of illegals so they could do their thing

8 Democrats were arrested, that day, with a bunch of others that were in that rally. With what happen that day. He ordered his people to start working again on that immigration Reform Bill.

Our veterans get treated like that stuff you step on, after the dog go's. But these Illegals get the Royal treatment. There is a lot more, but I will probably start using inappropriate words.

If Bob were king I guess medical coverage would only be allowed for the very wealthy, government employees, and those fortunate enough to have some sort of coverage through an employer. If your poor, a child, elderly, or employed but without benefits you on your own in this, the supposedly greatest richest country in the world.
Your right Bob, how dare they shove a plan down our throats in an effort to try fix a system that is already so corrupt and failing. Just look at our wonderful hospital and wonderful doctors here locally. It's a nationwide problem requiring a federal fix, if it can be fixed.
