Wasn't Mr Wade overlooked for Chief when Lane picked Smith over the local boy. Wade may have a bone to pick with Lane huh? But Wade disability retired shortly after that and after the City paid for his online college education to become chief. (deleted)

So what if pvtimes took picture. IF Wade wasn't right for the job, I a sure you he would not get the attention. Wade has a strong family that doesn't hang at 4th ave and college. Of course if he gets caught up with that 4th Ave group because family member invites him to join them then he will be removed from my vote list. Reynolds supported H &S for PVH so too bad - 1 vote.

@I'm just saying, YOU could also run for council, PVHP board or some other board position, so what's YOUR point. The Coachella Valley is just now starting to grow, very slowly once again. Like Blythe the cities of the Coachella Valley have been hit by the loss of RDA monies and other State programs that were taken away when the tax base collapsed in 2007-8. My point, was that cities like Indio had a spending problem, a debt problem and a money collection problem. Sound familiar? Indio and many other Coachella Valley cities HAD to assert their due diligence to curtail the overspending and debt. At the current rate of decline, Blythe will sooner or later raise taxes across the board or will have to file bankruptcy like Mammoth Lakes, Stockton, San Bernardino. As kindly Doc Brownlee used to say," We will have a little pain now, to prevent a lot of pain later."

I wonder who the newspaper will be endorsing to try and fill Joey's seat on the council? Amazingly they just happened to be there when Mr. Wade was turning in his papers. You think that maybe it was planned out ahead of time?

@Steve maybe because LA Quinta and the coachella valley continue to grow and grow. You can't compare apples to oranges sort of speak. You had your chance to run for council but you didn't. Don't complain about what is going on with the city when you had your chance. From what I have seen so far from the current council is not bad from with the cards that were dealt. To all that complain and blog about change we only have 3 that r willing to make a change. Ridiculous!!! One has medical problems, the other has ran before and lost, he has nothing to offer, and the 3rd works at the college don't know too much about!!

So, what happened to Smith? Tim Wade seems to think it is worthwhile. Blythe needs new "currency". When all is said and done, we really only have the skin on our bones and our word. If you're going to say it, do it. If not, then why would any Blythe Citizen want to vote for hollow words? Cities like Indio, Cathedral City even Indian Wells have dealt with their financial problems a couple of years ago. Now they are starting to emerge from their doldrums. Blythe hasn't even begun the process, why? Oh, yeah, you just have to build that welcome center and all will be right!
