TIMES EDITORIAL: Thank you to those who support and stand by the Palo Verde Valley Times

One thing we appreciate at the Palo Verde Valley Times is the customers that make it possible for us to put out a newspaper: our advertisers and subscribers. Through the good times and the bad, they've stood by us and supported both the newspaper and website (pvvt.com) even in the face of threats from those public figures who don't like the light of truth being shined on them. We're not backing down and, apparently, there are many who feel the same way. We can't thank you enough.

In return for your loyalty, we strive to put out the best product possible, providing news and insight into local events that you can trust and believe in. And for those who don't believe a word we write, we provide forums where you can offer your opinion as well, anonymously, if that's your wish. We just ask that you be civil in your comments. One of our primary goals at the Times is to expose our advertisers to thousands of readers who will then, in turn, use their services or keep in mind the availability of those services when the need arrives. The only way that is going to happen is if we put out interesting news and features that people want to pick up and read. While we can always improve, our web and subscription numbers tell us we're putting the news you want to read.

We're also grateful to the individuals, organizations and groups around town who submit to us pictures and stories about what they are doing and why. With such a limited newsroom staff, we greatly depend on the community to provide us with the information, be it hard news, features, sports, anniversaries, births, etc. If you have news you wish to see published in the Times, please submit it to us and we'll do what we can to oblige you. This is what makes it a community newspaper.

Like it or not, the Palo Verde Valley Times has had and continues to have an important impact on the community. We'll continue to be a bad dream to those who wish to exploit our town and a light for those who are seeking information and an educated opinion.

We don't plan on going away anytime soon and that's because of the continued support we receive from so many.

Again, thank you so much to our advertisers and readers for standing by us and supporting our goals, which are the same as yours, to create a better Blythe for ourselves, our families and friends.

Wow! Resorting to personal attacks on people just because they disagree with you, how grown up on your part. The class, integrity, and maturity you show is a shining example for everyone in our community of how not to act. Do not worry I take care of my family just fine and appreciate your concern. If you have children I hope you do not let them read what you write to people when arguing your point. If you wish to discuss this further you obviously think you know who I am and are more than welcome to contact me. My phone number is in the book and we can talk over the phone or maybe even meet in person.

Your laying the blame on the wrong people...Face up ,if the hospital closes that board and we negitive commentor's nor PVVT.should feel we are apart of the closer...There's one and only one you can point the finger at..If the three members and the ceo would do their job and get rid of him things would get better..But of course if he was let go that would be a great loss to desert air and she can't afford the loss, so of course he is going to contine to have it his way and his way is not suitable to our way's..looks like tic for tat..

You one of the 2700 voters will never know how the x board was going to get ahead of the curb. Maybe the new administration is in process of copy cat. You'll never know!

Not sure where you came up with the 100 to make 50 or 50 to make 51???
But I do know that this was not the first time the Hospital was headed toward Bankruptcy. All other times were the results of the MEC not Administration. The old Board finally made up their minds to correct the problem and the most likely where headed for success except the community believed the lies and changed the board.
Remember this was not the first time the MEC went on strike. I was at the meeting when Dr. S said he was no longer going to take call and stopped surgeries.
The consequences to that was the closure of the Surgery and OB departments. When the MEC was hruting financially and had to go back to work we did get a concession out of them a second surgeon (Dr. Arko).
Only difference this time is the MEC can not bring any real Business back so you are in a real pickle as your financials prove.
It is only a matter of time and history will repeat itself!

So spending $100 to make $50 is better than spending $50 to make $51. I guess if that is the logic you prescribe to then I guess the last administration did do better. From what I have been taught the latter is the better business model of the two. In regards to the "25 worst hospital" survey, all that was said was that it came out a month after we were told that the hospital was doing just fine leading to more credibility damage. So answer this, How do you explain away the PVVT telling us that everything was doing fine and the hospital was on the right track even though the reality was that it was rapidly heading towards insolvency? That is something you left out of your post. Let's not just pick out snipets of peoples comments here. Time will tell what the fate of the hospital is but all the constant negativity surrounding it sure does not help things. Once or if that hospital closes it will never reopen and all of you that helped push it into the ground will carry part of that on your shoulders for the rest of your life. Once again no one needs to tell me anything like you minions, I am perfectly capable of forming my own opinions and I am sorry if they are not the same as yours but that is the beauty of our country isnt it.

If you read the report that said PVH was one of the 25 worst hospitals you would of seen the survey for that report was for the period during which you friend Sandra Hudson was on the Board the first time (2009 - 2010) giving the MEC everything they wanted. Similar to what is happening now.
I have noticed how you like to twist things not reporting on the facts but what she tells you.
Look at the last three months March, April and May stats:
Patient day are worst then prior year.
Surgeries are Half of prior year for these last three months.
So that says the last Administration was doing better then you are!
I got those stats from your Hospital financial report.
So who is telling the TRUTH?

Sorry to have to tell you but no effort has been put into getting people to pull their ads. That credit goes to those running the show at the PVVT. You are right when you say business is business and when people find the actions of those they do business with to not be what they want their business to be involved with there are consequences. There has not been a need at this point to target any advertisers since the new board seems to be getting things turned around at the hospital. When the PVVT comes out and says in October that everything is great at the hospital and then the CFO says in december that at the rate the hospital was going that the doors would close by June there becomes a credibilty gap. We also found out that the hospital was ranked as one of the 25 worst in the country around the same time that the PVVT was telling us how great things were. Sorry but the damage was done to itself with no help needed! So if you want to keep believing and be treated like a mushroom then more power to you. I for one will take in a totality of the information and make my own judgements

Too bad that you don't name your three friends that quit subscribing to PVVT. that way the PVVT supportors will extend the same courtesy. Most of the three amigo's and the doctor/controler friends are people that don't want their names posted because the don't want their business to suffer. I am going to subscribe to the paper even though I use the internet. Go PVVT and thank you for standing up for your convictions!

OOPS There it is...I have family living up north,Vegas, phoenix, that log on to pvvt and read what is going on ..why? because this is their hometown...And they are interested in where we have to go for medical attention and the attention we will be given if we do need to go there. God forbid...PVVT is long time standing ..Sorry, but I dont feel that way about the hospital...Four people are putting in it the ground and you and they know who they are...

So you and the three amigos have gotten you few friends to pull ads.
My guess is when business for them slows down they will be back at PVVT's doors renew ads.
You have to remember Business is Business.
