LETTER: Weete grateful for support after having tires slashed

I use this method to give thanks - to give thanks for the Blythe citizens, who remain anonymous, but who have done an extraordinary thing for me recently when they sent me a generous gift to show their compassion when all the tires of our two cars were slashed under cover of darkness.

These are the kinds of people we actually do have in this fine community-to-be.

Sometimes I have wondered if it was true this kind existed in Blythe. Now I know they do, from personal experience. Thank you so much, folks; you have bolstered my faith - in God and this community of ours.

- Bob Weete, Blythe

On Jan. 30, between 4 and 6:30 p.m., Times columnist Bob Weete had the tires of both his and his wife's car slashed; eight tires total. A Blythe Police Department investigation has failed to uncover any clues or suspects in the attack. If anyone has any information concerning this incident, call the Times at 760-922-3181, ext. 6202.

Hey, Romaine! Nice to hear from you! Thanks for your wishes. Hope you are doing well, my friend. Take care. I hope you are right about the judge and all, but I don't have that much hope that it will. However, we move on, don't we?

Hey Mr. Weete,

I am sorry to hear about your tires being slashed. I hope the police find who did it and a judge makes them pay restitution. Please have a good weekend.
