@response to Sheikh Osama, the majority of your post is irrelevant to my post. Your response should have been directed elsewhere. In regards to the 1st Amendment, I think you need to reread the contents and restrictions on the 1st Amendment. Certain aspects of a statement must be proven or disproven in order for the statement to be considered libelous. Neither of which PVVT has the capabilities of proving. @lewd erskin, you're correct. I do have the right to protest, however as our only local media, you would think that PVVT would take an impartial stance on subjects. Instead, previous coverage seems quite contrary.

1. My deepest condolences to both families involved here. It takes more than one person to cause this kind of end, and my heart breaks for the two moms, sitting at home, waiting for their sons who will never walk-in the door.. I'm so very sorry for your losses..

2. to "Raciest" please learn what "grammar" means and while you're at it, learn how to spell. You're trying to defend someone on a public-forum using some unknown street/hood/jargon thinking you sound bad (deleted). Instead, you sound ignorant in the process and lose your message with the unforgivable number of ridiculous errors.. If you can't at the very least SPELL, then (deleted) save yourself the embarrassment..

3. Blythe is NOT a racist town.. (Note the correct spelling: RACIST) - it is not. Blythe is a small town with too many bored children. How many more children do we have yet to lose for the sake of "money" and "small-town-values"?

If you are truly from Blythe, you know we ALL grew up together. Whether you are black white brown or whatever, we all need to stand together as a community. R.I.P. to the young man who died.

@Blythes soooo racist.. Who cares about him runnin around this "dusty town"?? Doin his thug thing? Seriously? (deleted) Ever hear the saying "live by the gun, die by the gun"? What do you expect to happen? Do you expect to be able to run around "doin your thug thang" without repercussions? It's a shame that this is what Blythe is becoming. But don't expect it to change, if that's the lifestyle you choose to embrace, get used to burying your friends.

Offensive comments and attacks are deleted so no one else can view them.
Well I'm offended by the misspelling, punctuation and grammatical errors posted. Why was that not blocked out?? Are we seriously giving an open forum to those who lack an education?? Promoting bad habits, to those who refuse to open up a dictionary or thesaurus??? I truly am offended!! And the fact that it is printed to view on this public forum is disgracful.

@Sheikh Osama The PV Times is not denying your 1st amendment rights, they have the right to approve/disapprove what gets posted to THEIR website/newspaper. Feel free to go stand on the corner of Hobsonway and Broadway and loudly proclaim your message, no one is stopping you, and that is your 1st amendment right.

Article comment by: blythe racist???

to say blythe is racist is ridiculous. the entire town is dang near minority races. people do judge others, thats a fact, but if it were a white crack head that got shot and killed i don't think there would be any difference in the way the town reacted. (deleted) pretty simple, race has nothing to do with it. i think thats what you were getting at that blythe was racist, i'm not sure though because you kind of lost me in your post...is that even english?

A man lays dead and someone has the nerve to comment with the name "who cares"??? Such a coward to not put your name and take responsibility for your ignorance. No matter what type of person Terrance may have been, he doesn't have a chance to right his wrongs now, does he? Who cares? I care. Blythe as a community should care. A life TAKEN, is nothing to be taken lightly. A mother should NEVER have to bury her child, especially if its because of such foolishness. Would be nice if "who cares" would give their name... I know there's a couple people who would just love to meet you.

BLYTHE is so RACIEST - This post has to be a joke. I can not honestly believe it was written to be taken seriously. Let's for a moment assume it was written seriously. How can PVVT allow a comment with such poor grammar and spelling like that be posted but censor someone who has an opposing opinion. Mind boggling. Let's focus on the tragedy this really was and hope the police catch the shooter.

First amendment rights don't include libelous statements that assist people in spreading rumors. If so, we would be hearing the 500 different versions of crimes on this website. This unfortunate event should not be dragged through the mud with BS that people hear happened from their cousin who lived at the apartment complex five years ago who still has a friend who lives down the block. The murder rate isn't skyrocketing in Blythe. If you pay attention to statistics, you may feel that way because if one murder goes to two the next year, you've got a 100% increase. One to two doesn't qualify as a skyrocketing statement. Yeah, it's not always nice here, but if you follow the news from Indio, you'd look at this place in a whole new light. The Coachella Valley has a much higher crime rate than here. Blythe isn't always nice to look at, but it's good to know who you live around. Let's hope Blythe PD will find this guy and bring him to justice. RIP Mr. Hughes.

Article comment by: Hey Now

is there any more details to why this may have happened or are we leaving the "this is what i heard" to facebook/street talk and/or will justice be settled out of court with the continuous and on going race war between the two families handle on the street? its childish and just sad.
blythe isnt to blame. sometimes we judge before we take a good look at the kids we are raising.
either way this is someones son/family memmber, my respects go out to both families who have lost a son to pointless ignorance.
