Many (good) changes coming to Palo Verde
PALO VERDE, Calif. - Two businesses - a tackle and bait store and a mini mart - will soon call Palo Verde home.

Richard and Donna Lord purchased the store formally known as Mac Bait and Tackle five years ago. And up until recently, the couple was unsure about what they wanted to do with the place. The Lords decided the old bait and tackle store will be a new bait and tackle store and house the mini mart that was situated at Tamarisk Lodge.

While the dinner was another way for the Palo Verde Rod and Gun Club to bring the residents together for a time of renewing old friendships and enjoy an excellent dinner. It also makes it possible for those who have no place to go for Christmas dinner, or are no longer able to drive themselves to town to a restaurant to enjoy the Christmas food close by.

Christmas celebrated with parties in Palo Verde - season almost over
There was a number of Christmas parties and events this week. The Palo Verde Christmas party at the Palo Verde Rod and Gun Club was complete with turkeys, stuffing, and gravy, that folks are still talking about. There was a complete menu of traditional Christmas fare, in addition to residents who brought side dishes to the party. Those who attended went home with full stomachs and a beautiful Christmas spirit.

PALO VERDE PEOPLE: Christmas season underway in Palo Verde
PALO VERDE, Calif. - The Palo Verde Christmas dinner and party, for both youth and adults, will be Saturday Dec. 20 at 3:30 p.m. at the Palo Verde Rod and Gun Club.

The dinner will be traditional food of honey-baked ham, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and the rest of the holiday fare, including lots of desserts and other surprises.
