VHS/audio cassette fundraiser sale at the library
Rosita Smith

BLYTHE - Today is the last day of July. Within three weeks the kids will be back in school. What are you going to do in those three weeks of fleeting freedom? Take a mini weekend vacation? Read a great American novel? Exchange the desert's blazing sun for a couple of weeks on the French Rivera?

Start your holiday projects: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. Maybe take a VHS trip through the Rocky Mountain states. Or relax, sit back, and watch a great movie, or perhaps enjoy cartoons with your youngsters.

The Palo Verde Valley Library has recently received several large donations of audio and VHS tapes covering a multitude of subjects, both recreational and instructive.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, the Friends of the Library will be holding a VHS/audio cassette fundraising blow-out sale in the library. There are a multitude of classic movies, travel subjects, Ninja Turtle tapes, Spiderman and Star Trek videos, how-to-do-most-anything tapes, alongside children's audio and video cassettes. If you are driving from here to there, the children audio and video tapes will help to pass the "are we there yet jitters". Or if you are staying under the air conditioner, tapes that are new to you would be a pleasant break.

This is a true blow-out sale. 25¢ per tape - no limit. $1 will buy you four cassettes: $2 will buy you eight and for $3 you can go home with a whole dozen in your bag.

Money raised at the sale goes back to the library to fund various projects such as the children's summer reading program and the stuffed animal sleepover.

The Palo Verde Valley Library doors open at 10 a.m. The sale is over at 3:30 p.m. There is parking behind the library for your safety.

Come browse the merchandise. The library is nice and cool inside.

The Palo Verde Valley Library is on the northwest corner of Broadway and Chanslorway in Blythe. If you have questions, call 760-922-5371.
