LETTER: Transit manager thanks community

On behalf of the Palo Verde Valley Transit Agency (PVVTA) Board of Directors, management and staff I would like to thank those who came out to support the 10th Annual Holiday Lightrunner.

Over the last 10 years our community has embraced the trolley and the magic it brings over the holiday season making the Lightrunner Blythe's very own unique holiday tradition.

While New York has a large lighted tree, Blythe has a little green lighted trolley that fills children's hearts with joy and brings families a bit closer together for the season.

Without the community this service would not be possible. Every house that is decorated, every business that donates and every person who works behind the scene to make these types of holiday events successful understands that we as a community need more positive things in our lives, especially during these ever changing times.

From everyone here at PVVTA, have a merry Christmas and a safe new year.

- K. George Colangeli, Transit Manager, Palo Verde Valley Transit Agency

Took my grandchildren on these tours the first couple of years they were offered. Thoroughly enjoyed it! It was warm and toasty on the trolley and everyone was in a festive mood.

This was the first year since the roadrunner started doing the christmas light tour that my family was not able to ride the trolley. I was VERY disappointed when I called a couple of days before Christmas to find out what the schedule was for the Christmas lights Trolley and was told they were already done with the tour. They said they finished it about 2 weeks before Christmas. What I want to know is how many homes were set up and completely finished decorating two weeks before Christmas? About 4 years ago we went the first week they ran the trolley and were highly disappointed due to the lack of lights displayed, so the next couple of years we decided to go a little closer to Christmas to see a few more houses decorated than the year before and we were not disappointed, the lights were beautiful so maybe next year the Roadrunner will run a little closer to Christmas. I know there are some who put their lights up right after Thanksgiving but the some take their time and put up their light a couple of weeks after Thanksgiving, please next year maybe just a little closer to Christmas.
