LETTER: Reader supports local ballot measures W, X, and Y
I went on a trip recently throughout central New York. I came back a little sad. Once we left New York City, we traveled through small rural cities about our size. The roads were nice and as a result our car wasn't getting beat up. We didn't see any graffiti. The houses and yards were well kept. There was pride in the communities.

LETTERS: Defenders of the endangered Mexican Wolf
Defenders of the endangered Mexican WolfDear Sir or Madame,

I would to thank the Palo Verde [Valley] Times about their article regarding the first Mexican wolf pups to be cross fostered in the wild (Times; Mexican wolf conservation achieves two major milestones; Aug. 13, 2014). The success of this project is a tribute to the individuals and organizations dedicated to protecting these endangered animals.

LETTER: Appreciative Blythe Desert Dolphin parent
As a first season parent of a Blythe Desert Dolphin swimmer, I frequented all but a couple of practices...as I sat there, I thought to myself of how blessed we are to of had a young lady by the name of Arianna Tribby raise awareness of and money for the shade covers at the high school pool. I cannot even begin to her enough or imagine how much hotter it would be without them.

LETTER: Palo Verde Valley Transit offers rides to students and community
Over the last few months the community has seen overwhelming support for school bus transportation and safe travel for students to and from school. Even in a small town like Blythe it is very important to keep such services as the school bus and trained school bus drivers on the front line protecting and caring for our children.

LETTER: Palo Verde Hospital impresses patient
My name is Larry Williams and I just want to say this - for years I truly disliked our PVH (Palo Verde Hospital) and I made it known.

LETTER: Rude Blythe workers
When did the citizens of Blythe forget their manners? I am disappointed to say that after living in an actual city for four years, I have come back to find that the people of this fair city have forgotten what it means to be courteous and genuine.

LETTER: Questions about K-8 implementation
I started out by reading the different links on the K-8 schools and then a light bulb turned on in my head. The district is low on money and the school board members are trying to make cuts to save money so that it can go into the classrooms where it will benefit the students.

LETTER: Mayor says 'thank you' for support of Blythe River Blues Festival
For the third year in a row, the Blythe River Blues Festival has brought world-class talent to our town and raised money for the Blythe Chamber of Commerce, an organization that works hard to promote local businesses and the community.

LETTER: Against a medical marijuana dispensary in Blythe
As I read the article on the City Council moving to repeal medical marijuana dispensary ban I took notice of some of the reasons given. Two of the reasons were to capture the taxes missed when marijuana is bought outside the city and those who wish to use the drug have to go out of town to purchase it.

LETTER: Reader responds to Weete's column
Mr. Weete: Your column about a New Revolutionary War is the absolute biggest pile of literary crap I've ever read. Fox, Rush, Beck? That's who you think is giving you the real scoop? You claim Liberal media is unfair? But Fox is fair?
