LETTER:Shame on the police behavior

I donít understand why two Blythe police department officers conducted themselves the way they did Saturday, March 29.

A time and place for everything, I was taught that when I was a young girl. That's why I don't understand why two Blythe police department officers conducted themselves the way they did Saturday, March 29. They know who they are, laughing going on with each other at the scene where a young lady was deceased and the family members were all right there. You need to learn the word "respect."

Hurt and disappointed family member.

Betty Couthren, Blythe

I have also been in that type of situation with BPD having a loved one in critical condition. I was to say the least hysterical as we waited for ambulance and paramedics. PD showed up and witnessed the situation, made some rude assumptions then instead of attempting CPR or at least showing us how to do it, they walked away and were saying some very insensitive things. It was right then and there I gave up all respect for any of the law enforcement. That was not how I was raised in the 60's. I had had some misgivings due to another time I requested assistance and was disappointed at the lack of help. Not the only times I was disappointed or worse but this was it for me. That is not how it was in my day. The "Men in Blue" were important and respected. That time has come and gone my friends.

For the most part Blythe police officers have proven to be more considerate than other cities I have lived in. But there are a few officers on the force who are total butts. It is sad that officers can be inconsiderate of people's feelings and needs.
