In the early evening hours of Monday, Jan. 27, 32 colonies of honeybees were stolen from a location near Ehlers backwater on the river, just below what would be 30th Avenue.
These were palletized hives and were removed by the thieves using a skid-steer forklift towed behind a flatbed truck. The criminals had knowledge of beekeeping and were undoubtedly not from this valley.
This is an open letter asking for anyone with any information to please come forward. Also, if any discarded beekeeping equipment (boxes, frames, lids) are found to please let me know. The boxes were stencil painted with "Bradley Bees, Blythe, Ca, 760-922-2621".
As beekeepers, we rely on the general good of the public to not damage our equipment. When they are stolen by other beekeepers it is exceptionally hard to understand. Please call Bradley Bees 760-922-2621 or Riverside County Sheriff's Department (760) 921-7900 with any information.
