COLUMN: Stop the killing
Bob Weete
Columnist

Recently, I saw the most horrific thing since I watched the newsreels showing Auschwitz and the other slaughterhouses of Nazi Germany. It was on Fox News, and showed pictures of the savage work done by the baby murderer of some 31 years. A certain Dr. Kermit Gosnell.

At one time, I might have been more acceptable of the Pro-Choice groups, but this and other reports have completely changed my mind. What kind of human being makes a living by butchering babies? And most of the women and girls who use this method of birth control are not far behind.

I recognize that, in some cases where there is real danger to the woman or the child, there "might" be reason. And, I might see some instances of terminating a pregnancy resulting from rape, but that then opens a whole can of worms, too. All a person would have to do is "claim" she was raped and there would not ever be a plan that would be enforced to have the alleged rape verified.

"In the olden days" pre-marital sex was considered a sin, and that was it. If that was ignored and a pregnancy developed, Mary Jane went off to live with Aunt Matilda for a year, had the baby which was then put up for adoption, and Mary Jane came back home, went back to school, and that was done.

Since our society has so blatantly tossed morals out the window in favor of eliminating any aspect of self-control or self-denial, even though we have developed all kinds of wonderful ways to "avoid" pregnancy, we still wind up with unwanted pregnancies - by the thousands.

So we say it's the woman's choice; it's her body, so she decides what to do with her "problem".

Of course the guy (or boy) is off the hook and can go about his business. The thing is her "choice" should have been made prior to conception. Problem avoided.

There are all too many "doctors" in their humanity, who will provide a "viable" solution to the problem. Just get rid of the baby. For a price. I don't hear many people being at all concerned about the baby having a choice in the matter.

It's all for the convenience of the parent(s). They just want to make it go away.

You know, when we get a pet - a dog, or a cat - we have them "fixed" because we don't want a bunch of kitties or puppies. Why not the same thing for people? If you are determined to flaunt your morals, it would be easier, safer, less expensive to just get "fixed" (boys and girls), and then you have solved the problem.

Doctors who will perform abortions upon demand will tell you all kinds of politically correct things to ease you into hiring him to do the deed. He has to make his living, you know. But do some research - before you have the situation. You might want to know what happens, all too frequently.

The program showed portions of babies kept in containers, plastic bags with bodies of babies kept in a refrigerator where workers kept their lunch bags. There were pictures of full-term babies. And most disgusting of all, there were pictures of babies born alive who had actually had the tops of their spinal cord clipped, a painful action - for the baby. A barbaric procedure.

Now, I know this was just one instance of this practice; this man had been doing it for 31 years!

Oh, sure, we have laws against this, but the law failed these children. Frankly, I sometimes have a hard time trusting our federal laws and governmental overseers. That is what happens when the government has so many people charged with supervising government programs and who do not do their jobs.

Adoption by a caring, loving couple is far better than killing babies but, we have to have laws that are clear-cut and simple, without any of the Politically Correct garbage that is killing our country. And, we then have to have people administering the program who will see that the law is carried out, and there are follow-up procedures to assure that proper care is given to the child.

That's another issue.

Of course, another way to avoid this horrendous practice, is to teach our kids the difference between right and wrong, the value of responsibility, of honor, the respect for life. Our movies and television certainly don't provide that, anymore. Frankly, the working taxpayers are getting fed up with paying out their money to support people who don't feel they have any responsibility to conduct their lives with common sense.

Instead, it would appear that our government has simply decided that "people are going to do what they want to do anyway, so let's "help" them by providing them with all their needs to make them "equal". Poppycock.

They start out equal, but then we make them totally dependent on handouts which effectively drop them into a lesser category- not "equal" and "fair", which guarantees a continuing dependence for generations.

Oh my God. Peace are you picking a fight here? What's up? Did we eat Kung Fu Taco's today? I believe that when we have an opinion on something or some-one we have already judged them by our standards and our moral beliefs. You have made a judgement and then you state your opinion. So what is an Opinion? Peace. Chill out, now go to your corner.

I still say if you're not willing to be part of the solution don't be part of the problem. I too have four beautiful responsible adults, and was a single mom at 17, does that give me the right to judge and point fingers at others, I think not. I have taken on a volunteer job to help guide those young ladies who would think they want to abort, still yet does that give me the right to judge..I think not. God and us that is our final destiny......

I know - and you know - you did the right thing. Congratulations on having such wisdom to persevere after having made an "error". All too many will unfortunately continue by making another serious mistake in attempt to cover up the first one. And your son wants to join the Marines! HE has wisdom, too!

Let it be known.... I was a teenage mother myself..... I was pregnant at 17 and could have taken "the easy" route of having an abortion and being done with it all. I was very close to giving my son up for adoption. So very glad I did not go either route!!! My son is 16 now and heading down the right path through high school JROTC program and wants to very soon get into the Marines! He is a low B high C student and it was rough! I never thought it would end the crying nights, the dirty diapers, the puke on my shirt when I just got out of the shower!!! But now I miss that little guy! Where did he go? He grew too quick! Like the Bible says " This too shall pass. " It has and everything has worked out for THE BEST! - Proud PRO LIFE MOM!!!!

Mr. Weete and I must have seen the same pictures. Not in my 54 years of life have I ever seen something so disturbing than those pictures of those poor little babies. I was angry, sad, disturbed, outraged, and horrified all at once. What is so amazing to me is that there is no outrage or coverage in the media for this but an athlete that comes out as being gay makes front page news. This truly shows the state of moral depravity the US is truly in. Turning this country around will require nothing short of a miracle. Thanks Mr Weete for having the courage to shed light on this tragedy.

Why contradict yourself. First you say you can see it perhaps necessary in case of rape then u throw a curve ball and say opens a can of worms and..........Looks as though you are not keeping your mind focused on details.... Plz let this one go. Appears to me we could all benefit from a class in Sociology.

You could just sum it it up with liberal logic, but alas it was not meant to be. Inspectors willfuly stayed away from that doctors office knowing what they would find. The government has and will till the end of time lie, distort,
or cover-up their wrong doings. The death penalty is too good for Dr. Gosnell.
BTW this is your taxes at work.

Yes, there is the other side of the coin, as girls use having babies as their source of income. This is, in my mind, as despicable as the abortion. Same mind-set. All about ME. The children of these girls haven't much of a chance, either. They could be adopted by people who would care for them. However, as long as our government makes welfare a means of support, there is no motivation for these girls to prepare their lives by getting an education, learning a skill, and taking on the responsibility of earning a life with values. The government should realize these people do not have the "right" to be equal with all the "things" in life, when they aren't willing to go about it in a responsible way. The government fosters this life style, just as they foster the people who kill babies because a couple of people get together for a one-night stand, and then throw away the human life that results from their actions.

@ S. Joyner. Most of these people would be the first to file, to stop the execution of a murderer. Yet they would be the first to take a young woman to get an abortion. Funny world we live in. In-which the life of an innocent is worth less then the life of a killer.

First of all, I agree with you that abortion is 100 percent wrong. Never in a million years would I even consider doing that under any circumstance...though I do believe that "when you are in my shoes.." Let me ask the public forum out there, who are having the abortions? Career-minded women who dont want the hassle? College bound women who made a mistake? Teenage girls who didnt think this could happen the first time they had sex are not ready for the responsibility of a child? I know for a fact who are NOT having abortions. Girls that want an apartment, free medical, free food, free ride. I find it amazing that Conservatives are fighting vehemently for this women to have children that will never never vote for them! This generation of welfare children will take over society and rule our political process. Is that what we want?

Another great article. Where is the media in reporting this sick case? This guy gets no media coverage and we are stuck hearing about Casey Anthony and Jody Arias..... This abortion "doctor" makes Casey Anthony look like a Candy Striper!!! Also I have known many a vegetarian tell me... " Hey, go down to a Butcher and You will never eat meat again. The way they kill those poor pigs and cows... go see it for yourself." Okay using this same logic why don't people see the cut up babies online and educate themselves? There would be a lot less "pro choice" people when they see these mutilated babies! Thats what they do they CUT the baby out people!!! Wake up! It is MURDER!!! And men you should not be scared to stand up for babies rights!!! YOU were a baby at one time TOO!!! And I say that as a woman. Men need to stand up for what they believe in and stop letting the left castrate you!!!
