BLYTHE - Taylor Cavazos and Arianna Tribby, the two young ladies who won at the South District Scholarship Competition, have done it again. The two high school students were awarded $800 scholarships from the CA-Hawaii State Elks Organization. The funds add to Tribby's previous win of $700 from the Elks organization.
Elks scholarship competition at the local level will commence later this Spring. Blythe Elks Lodge 1799 will award a $500 scholarship to a deserving young lady and a $500 scholarship to a deserving young man. Students do not have to be heading to a university to be eligible. Junior colleges and vocational programs will also be considered.
All graduating seniors who meet the application criteria are encouraged to apply. Applications are available at Palo Verde High School Counseling Center.

These young Ladies acted as meal servers at a few Dinner Functions I worked at and made my job a lot easier by doing theirs very well. Congrats to the Elks on a great choice. And to the young Ladies as well.
