BLYTHE - Beta Sigma Phi got another sorority year off to a great start recently with a Beginning Day brunch at the home of Betty Seale.
Assisting with the event were co-hosts Sarah Coon, President Dawn Williams, and Kimie Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., who enjoys a unique position as honorary member of Beta Sigma Phi, Ki American Lambada, Blythe Chapter.
Everyone in attendance expressed delight at being back with friends and sisters after a long, hot summer.
A recent Sunday afternoon at Barbara Lindsay's home was the setting for a lovely Invitational Tea.
Tables were laid out with antique linens, china and crystal. Flowers decorated each table and tiered servers offered a delicious assortment of scones and cookies.
A chocolate fountain surrounded by a variety of fresh fruits, was a fun feature of the party. Teacups were kept filled by the hostess and president.
President Dawn Williams welcomed guests and spoke briefly about the meaning of sorority as well as some of the cultural, social and community events planned for the coming year. Members and guests then introduced themselves. Guests included Dee Coats, Kathy Neldberg, Ruth Davis, Shirley Foster, Dymphna Dungea, Bridget Evans and Janie Standage.
"It was a lovely way to be introduced to new friends and renew old acquaintances," said member Betty Seale. "It was a beautiful party."
