Celia's Rainbow Gardens Cookbook needs more recipes
QUARTZSITE, Ariz. - The 20-acre portion of the Town Park, Celia's Rainbow Gardens, is currently being developed into a memorial botanical gardens in honor of Celia Winer. Winer, just 8 years old, passed away in 1994 from a viral infection that struck her heart.

QUARTZSITE, Ariz. - After spending all day Friday and Saturday attending and participating in all the town's activities, what comes next? There is always the final day of the Grand Gathering event where there will be seminars and talks, in the early part of the day, with a "boogy-down" performance with local bluesman, Paul Winer at 1:30 p.m. Winer, Reader's Oasis books owner and local musician will play a special benefit concert for the Q.I.A.

Chili cook off and a country music tribute Saturday in Quartzsite
The Quartzsite Rotary Club's two big events this weekend are first time events for the local Rotary chapter. The first event, Shootout at Tyson Wells Chili Cookoff, starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. The second event, The Legends of Country Music, honors a few of country music's greatest singers. Doors for this event at the Quartzsite Improvement Association (Q.I.A.) building open at 3:30 with the show beginning an hour later.

Mountain Quail RV Park is again sponsoring the annual Southwest Art Show and Roundup, which features local artists with all kinds of work in many mediums. The art show includes paintings, cards, prints and will also have an outdoor author's booth where local authors will show you what they are doing this year.

The 20th annual Party in the Park to celebrate Celia's Rainbow Gardens will be March 15 at the pavilion in the Town Park in Quartzsite. This event serves as a celebration of Celia Ann Winer's life, and of the beginning of the Gardens project. It also is a way to thank everyone who has volunteered to help grow the Gardens over the years.
