Jacket baseball wraps up IVL campaign
BLYTHE, Calif. - The Palo Verde High School Yellow Jacket baseball team brought its Imperial Valley League season to a close last Thursday with a 6-2 home loss to Southwest. The Jackets finished the IVL campaign with a 2-8 record having beaten Imperial on the road 3-2 and falling at Calexico by a 6-0 count earlier in the week.

The Best in the Desert, Silver State 300 race started at first light. Richard "Ricky" Gray would be second off the line in his Ironman Expert class competing against some good riders. He left the starting line about 6 a.m. and within the first 10 miles he would try to win the race for his class but trying to pass in the thick dusty conditions had its turns.

BLYTHE, Calif. - Anthony Rivera pitched a one-hitter and Dylan Johnson had two hits and scored both Palo Verde runs as the Yellow Jackets picked up their first Imperial Valley League win with a 2-0 shutout of Imperial Tuesday afternoon at Ken Heater Field on the Palo Verde High School campus.

The Palo Verde High School Lady Yellow Jacket softball opened its Imperial Valley League season on the short end of a 12-2 score at Calexico last week then rebounded with a win over Holtville in a non-league contest by the same 12-2 score. With the split, the Jackets moved into the rest of the their IVL schedule with an 11-6 record.

Quartzsite School District's Salome High School Annual Track and Field results
It has been seven years since either Quartzsite Elementary or Ehrenberg Elementary students participated in the Salome High School Annual Track Meet March 23. The return of the schools at the meet was met with outstanding results, with Ehrenberg Elementary seventh/eighth grade boys receiving a second place trophy.
