Maureen ‘Reenie’ O’Brien
Maureen 'Reenie' O'Brien, 56, passed away peacefully in her home in Austin, Texas, April 3, 2014. She was born in Riverside, Calif., March 23, 1956.
She moved to Blythe with her family at the age of two. She graduated from Palo Verde High as a honor student in 1976. In high school she loved to make everyone laugh with her outrageous humor, especially as the Yellow Jacket mascot.
Reenie then moved to the big city and attended UCLA. She spent most of her young adult life in San Diego and Palm Desert area.
She loved the beach and had a very active fun- filled life as a beautician.
In the mid 90's Reenie moved to Texas. She absolutely loved it in Austin. She had many friends and loved to help others. She had a ministry assisting less fortunate people and always had her door open to help anyone in need. She was very active as a volunteer, feeding and clothing the homeless. She always loved helping people.
We were all blessed with her presence and beautiful smile. She will be deeply missed.
Maureen is survived by her brothers Thomas F. O'Brien, Joe O'Brien, Terry O'Brien; Aunt and Uncle Jim and Ann Norman; along with many nieces nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas F O'Brien M.D and Della Louise O'Brien.
Services will be held May 16, 2014, 10 a.m. at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Blythe.
