Boyd Bowen Jr., 61, was called home on April 13, 2013.
He was born on June 2, 1951 in Oklahoma to Irmagene Barkin and Boyd Bowen Sr.
As a young boy, Boyd enjoyed hunting bullfrogs and was quite the young hunter. Boyd enjoyed playing football and basketball, he was an outstanding athlete and excelled in football. With the build of a tall and strong man, tackling was a great asset Boyd possessed.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted Baptist. Boyd met the love of his life, Pinkie, at a Halloween party through his sister, Kathy.
It was love at first sight for Boyd and Pinkie and they were married on Nov. 5, 1979. To this union they brought eight loving children into the world.
Upon moving to Hawthorne, Calif., Boyd began working at Chevron USA until his retirement in 2005.
Boyd was a very hard-working man and loved sports, fishing, and playing dominoes with family and friends. He was truly a loving husband, great father, supportive son, brother, and uncle.
As Boyd's health declined, he never lost his spirit or complained. His most prized possessions were his wife, children, and grandchildren. Boyd and his family lived many years in Hawthorne before moving to Bellflower, Calif. where he resided until he was called home.
