OBITUARY: Mike Soto Montes

Mike Soto Montes, 66, beloved husband, father, tata, brother, tio, uncle, and friend, passed into eternal life with our Lord on March 6, 2013.

Mike was born Feb. 25,1947, in Blythe, Calif. to Jose Antonio and Juana Soto Montes.

He attended Margaret White Elementary, Blythe Junior High and Palo Verde High School where he enjoyed playing football and made many life-long friends.

Mike served in the U.S. Army with pride from July 1966 to July 1968 as a heavy vehicle operator in Thailand.

His sense of humor was unsurpassed and he enjoyed making others laugh.

Everyone who knew Mike will miss the love and laughter he brought into our lives.

Mike is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Brandon; daughter, Melanie; brothers, Johnnie and Tony; sisters, Eva, Elodia, and Angie; grandsons, Brandon, Matthew, and Michael; granddaughters, Brianna, Valerie, Vanessa, and Stephanie; stepson, Ryan; many loved nieces and nephews; 11 cats and one dog.

Funeral mass for Mike will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on March 16, 2013.

Condolences to the Montes family....It's been so many years since I seen Mike. I also remember how fun he was to be around and how kind he was..God be with you all..Robin Barker Toon.

My sincere condolences to the Montes family, we go way back. I am truly sorry to hear of Mike's passing. It's been a long time, but I will never forget what a sweetheart Mike was and so much fun to be around. I know he will truly be missed by his family and friends. Remembering you always my friend...

We'll miss you Uncle Mike. My condolences to Bonnie and the other family members. You all have been an inspiration to me and helped me to deal with my brother David Montes. Sorry I can't make it but I will forever remember Mike's laugh and smile that could light up a room when he entered!
