Fred Roe, 76 passed away peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 27, 2012 in Salem, Ore.

He was born on July 28, 1936, in Arlington, Calif., to Fred and Pearl Roe.

After handling many positions in the agriculture industry in Blythe and the Imperial Valley, he retired as a regional manager for Dole and moved to Salem where he and Nancy have resided for the last 20 years. They attended New Harvest Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching re-runs of Gunsmoke and loved his family deeply. He was also a compassionate volunteer for Hospice in Salem.

"For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain," Phillipians 1:6.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy. He is also survived by his daughters, Cindy Beatty and Linda Neuharth, son-in-law Jay Neuharth; grandchildren, William Murdock (fiancé Hillary and daughter Jordyn) of Washington, Autumn, Sierra, Emily and Eva Neuharth; sister, Julia Cash (husband Al) of Arkansas; brothers, Roland Roe (wife Sue) of Blythe, Larry Roe of Texas and their families and his beloved dog; Molly.

Fred was preceded in death by great grandson Daniel Anthony Murdock.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in honor of Fred to New Harvest Church, 4290 Portland Road NE, Salem, Ore. 97301. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center - Salem.

Nancy and family I am sorry for your loss. The Roe family will always be close to my heart. I hope that God gives you peace during this time of healing.

My condolances to Nancy & Family. Fred and I worked together while I was atTelles Ranch. He was a great mentor in the art of growing Lettuce. He was always a pleasure to be around. Rest in peace my friend.
