Maria M. DeLaO, 85, passed away July 31, 2012 in Palm Springs, Calif.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1926 in Canotillo, Texas to Leandro and Juana Mendez.

She is survived by her children; Benita D. Moreno (Frank), Isabel D. Anciso, Christine D. Parrish (Archie), Alfonso M. DeLaO (Rachel), David M. DeLaO (Earline), Jenny D. Gregory (Steven), Jessie M. DeLaO, Carmen D. Butler (Raymond), Irene D. Harris (Dewayne), Lupe D. Echer (Jon), Mary M. DeLaO; brothers, Jose R. Mendez (Maria), Angel R. Mendez; and sister, Paula M. Gonzales. Maria also had 45 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Leandro and Juana Mendez; her husband, Jesus DeLaO; her son, Manuel DeLaO; her granddaughter, Angela Anciso; and her grandson, Mark D. Salazar.

Visitation services for Maria will be Aug. 9, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at Frye Chapel with Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 10 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with burial to follow at Palo Verde Cemetery. A gathering will be held at the Blythe-Spanish/English Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 415 E. Barnard following the burial.

To the De La O Family, especially to Carmen, Mary and Benita, I extend my sincerest condolences. Your mom had a beautiful smile and was always so happy to be in the company of her children. This is how I remember her. God bless you all.
