BLYTHE - Homecoming 2012 has come and gone, but for those who missed the green and gold weekend, here is a recap:
Friday's Homecoming festivities began with a parade (see video at pvvt.com) at 4 p.m. that traveled east down Hobsonway and ended in the Sears parking lot where a rally, sponsored by 7th Street 76 Station, was held. The rally gave the community an opportunity to meet the Palo Verde High School varsity football team, the high school band, and the cheerleaders.
Although the team lost to Imperial 62-7, the pre-game show was filled with excitement as the Palo Verde Historical Museum and Society inducted the 1971 PVHS Varsity Football Team and Coach Phil Ramsey into the PVHS Hall of Fame.
The halftime show saw performances from the cheer, band, flag, and dance teams before crowning Jeremy Johnson and Shelby Gonzalez Homecoming King and Queen.
Overall the weekend was busy with class reunions and gatherings all over the valley. And now that another Homecoming weekend has been put to rest it is time for the reunions for next year to start planning for the biggest event held in Blythe.
