4/7/2014 12:01:00 PM UPDATE: Shooting victim, Douglas Miker, dies from gunshot wound

BLYTHE, Calif. - Douglas Miker, 24, died Saturday morning around 11:44 a.m. from injuries sustained from a single gunshot wound to the head that happened the early morning of April 4.
After receiving a 9-1-1 call about a possible man with blood on his head lying on the side of the road, Friday morning at 6:17, sheriff deputies found Miker with a single gunshot wound to the head on 10th Ave. between Defrain Blvd. and Arrowhead. Miker was taken to a Phoenix hospital via helicopter where he was on life support until his death.
Riverside County Sheriff's Homicide Unit is handling the case. If anyone has any information about the case, they are asked to call Investigator Koser at the Colorado River Station at 760-921-7900.
