BLYTHE - A Blythe woman was flown out to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs the evening of Nov. 22, after being struck by a car in the area of S. Lovekin Blvd. and Rice.
Blythe Police Officer Ronnie Jones was in the vicinity when he saw a 2004 Chevy traveling southbound on Lovekin Blvd. at about 30 mph. Jones saw the woman, later identified as Thelma McBeth, 51, step into the path of the car from the west side of Lovekin Blvd.
Jones saw McBeth leave the pavement after being struck by the vehicle and land within the intersection of Rice and Lovekin Blvd.
Jones radioed for additional units and Blythe Ambulance. Jones saw the driver of the Chevy stop and check on McBeth, who got up from the pavement and began to argue with Jones.
She was calmed down and transported to the airport by Blythe Ambulance where she was flown to Palm Springs for further treatment.
The driver of the Chevy was identified as Paula Ann Willcut, 72, of Blythe. The accident is still under investigation and the extent of injuries suffered by McBeth are unknown at this time.

It really isn't about the money, it's about making sure that the victim was and is okay. You can never be to sure about internal bleeding.'Focus"

Jose is right in ever statement. I can remember when a ambulance was $35.00 and ER was around $35.00, if it wasn't something serious. Now it's all about the Almighty dollar!
