BLYTHE - Riverside County District Attorney's Office arrested Dr. Hossain Sahlolbei, 51, Thursday morning. He is charged with two felony counts of conflict of interest and two felony counts of grand theft of money, labor, and property. He was booked into Riverside County Jail and being held on a $600,000 bail.

District Attorney officials raided Sahlolbei's house, the hospital business office, and his medical practice after his arrest.

Agents reportedly arrested him at home.

Sahlolbei is the current Chief of Staff at Palo Verde Hospital.

UPDATE:

Riverside County District Attorney's office alleges that as a member of Palo Verde Healthcare District's Medical Executive Committee (MEC), Sahlolbei could not participate or negotiate contracts that would benefit him. The D.A. alleges that Sahlolbei collected $589,000 in profit between two contracts.

The D.A. collected enough evidence to convince a judge to issue an arrest warrant for $600,000 on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

He faces four felony counts; two for conflict of interest and two for grand theft.

He is scheduled for arraignment on Monday in an Indio courtroom.

Article comment by: Bell California Upset with paying board member's legal fees

I have researched the City of Bell and so far the only person to receive funding from the City for their criminal charges is the City Manager. The Judge said that because it was in the CONTRACT the City must pay! A public entity in the State of California is required to indemnify all pubic officials including employees in the course of their duties as long as they do not BREAK THE LAW!!!!
Hudson is being tried for violating Government Code 1090 a (Criminal OFFENSE).
I post here because I do not have a Facebook account!

For this doc, who has ruled pvh mec for many years and the locals know his history, to be brought up at all on any charges, here's your question back at you - "Does that reflect in any way on the Doctor? I just wonder if it does......." Yes it reflects on the doctor!!! Oh yes according to you - it is all made up and a figment of many peoples imagination (INCLUDING THE DA AND JUDGE) that this doc has been involved at a minimum with fraudulent activities - wrong - the community knows this man and ALL HIS HISTORY- so okay 1 count stuck - BUT IT STUCK - SO IT IS NOT A FIGMENT OF ONE PERSON'S IMAGINATION. Richard - u r ridiculous to be acting like you care about blythe when you live several hundred miles and thousands of $$ away from Blythe or CA!! We don't need people like the dr and you when you say you care, then turn around and take from the community and state without giving anything back except a bunch of lip service. Looking for a favor from the doc and/or twins?

"The judge did find sufficient evidence for the state to continue on count 3 (grand theft over $400,000)."
I wonder what that means?
Only takes one felony and Pop goes the weasel!

Still stands!
What the Judge said to Sahlolbei should make him think a little.
About taking from colleagues and an ailing (financially strapped) hospital!
WOW!!!
I still can't wait for the TRIAL....

Article comment by: you were not in court Jere

Two counts where dropped because the Judge claims he did not fit the Gov. Code 1090 charges. The third was dropped because of the statute of limitations! Lucky Mr. S. on that one.
Still pending is a felony charge and hopefully the paper will print what the Judge said to Sahlolbei!!!
Not GOOD!!!
I can not wait for the real TRIAL.

Dr. Sahlolbei got the court to dismiss three out of four charges, and he will get the last one dismissed too.

You will not see him in orange, as you wished.

All this gibberish of the good Dr. being sneaky, manipulative and dishonest is simply Poppycock and a biased OPINION! I know Dr. Hossain Sahlolbei to be honest, fair, forthcoming and not one to suffer incompetence at work or foolishness by others. (Perhaps that is where the fundamental problem is with all the haters.) On another note: Three out of the Four Bogus charges were dismissed by the Judge on 7-22-2014, without any defense making arguments. The good Judge decided these charges were purely hogwash, and dismissed three counts, and the Judge was unsure on one of the counts and let it stand. No doubt it will be dismissed later too, or Dr. S will be found not guilty when all the FACTS of the case are presented in a court room. smh at the haters......... I'm just say'n.................

You said "When a person is SNEAKY, MANIPULATIVE and DISHONEST, is that a violation of a LAW? "

My question is:
Does that make a GOOD Doctor?

The issue at hand is commingling the Court of Public Opinion and the Criminal Court Proceedings. Those are two separate issues that stand independently on their own merits from each other and should be discussed separately. (Once you embrace that concept and arrive at that place in your life, everything is so much clearer.) I am sure in the Court of Blythe Public opinion with many people in the, "KNOW", the Good Dr. is , as one motivated person previously stated, "GUILTY AS SIN." Dr. S. is my friend, and the Court of Public Opinion meets DIDDLY SQUAT to me! What matters is the Criminal Case. And that my friends is WHEN the TRUTH will be revealed! The rumors and half truths and Court of Public Opinion mean DIDDLY SQUAT in the Big Picture! That is why I am reserving JUDGEMENT until Due Process runs its course! I believe, if memory serves me right, that BLACKSTONE said it best. It is better that ten guilty persons escape justice than that one innocent suffer", My simple question is this. When a person is SNEAKY, MANIPULATIVE and DISHONEST, is that a violation of a LAW? As of this date, I have not heard of ONE person that was convicted and sentenced for being, SNEAKY, DISHONEST nor MANIPULATIVE. Food for thought.... I'm just say'n........................

You missed the point. If you had read his comment, you would of figured out that he was saying that Mr. Sahlolbei IS PRESUMED NOT GUILTY & HE IS DEFINATELY NOT INNOCENT!
Even if you are found not guilty that still does not mean you did not commit the crime! There are plenty of criminals running around who beat the system or got away for a technicality! We know what went on and there is a large portion that believe he is GUILTY even the DA's OFFICE. Otherwise they would not have brought charges against him.
Next hearing July 21st and 22nd!!!

Yeah, innocent until proven guilty we know that Teskey. Have you read the declaration of the DA's investigator? It seems as though your good buddy has been very sneaky, dishonest, and manipulative. On the one hand, he has repeatedly spoken up loudly and obnoxiously at public meetings, criticizing successive hospital administrators for wasting money, while on the other hand pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars under the table, enriching himself with multiple get rich schemes at the expense of PVH. Your theory is the investigator is lying? I'm not a legal expert like you, Teskey, but I can smell a rat as well as the next dog, and regarding this case the odor is overpowering, no matter what the outcome of the court case.

You don’t have to be a lawyer or have above average intelligence to have heard and understand the term, “Innocent until Proven Guilty” (A fundamental concept in the United States justice system). The expression was first used in the Bill of Rights to ensure ALL citizens (EVEN DR. S!) receive a fair trial if they're ever charged with a crime(s). Your innocence is assumed until these conditions are met. In other words, "YOU ARE INNOCENT of ALL CHARGES until PROVEN GUITLY." Furthermore my Young Padawon Learner, The presumption of INNOCENCE principle supports the practice of releasing criminal defendants from jail prior to trial. "THE PROSECTION has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant committed a crime. Your hate is misguided at me! Take it up with the US CONSTITUTION! LMAO!! (In full disclosure, an argument could be made that INNOCENT until proven guilty is, "Symbolic.") LMAO!

The GOOD DR. S is INNCOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY!!!!! LMAO!!! STOP THE HATE!!!!!!

PS: I Never took the Sergeants test never wanted to promote and I am Laughing at you all the way to the bank. I'm just say'n...
