The Wind in the Willows, a Desert Learning Center production on stage in May
Mr. Toad, Ratty, Mole, Badger and all of the other lovable characters from Kenneth Grahame's classic children's novel, The Wind in the Willows, will soon take the stage of the Palo Verde College Theatre to retell the charming and amusing story of Mr. Toad's fascination with motorcars and the wild rides that get him into trouble.

Wounded soldier gets wheelchair from Quartzsite VFW
QUARTZSITE, Ariz. - During its dedication ceremony April 4 celebrating a location move, Quartzsite Ben Scott VFW Post 769 presented retired U.S. Army private, Jesus "Jessie" De La Cruz, with a wheelchair to aid in his mobility after losing his leg March 12, 2008 after being hit by an IEL in the Middle East.

BLYTHE, Calif. - Palo Verde High School Lady Jacket Varsity Basketball squad end their season as champs after defeating the Escondido Adventist Lady Hawks 53-38 in regulation. The Jacket boys went into overtime against the Lutheran High School Knights, but fell short by four points, 77-73, at the end of the boys Division 5 Championship game.
