Anonymous donor gives to PVUSD
Special to the Times

BLYTHE -Mary Murray (right) and Katherine Anderson from Wells Fargo Bank, representing an anonymous alumni donor, presented Board President John Ulmer with a check in the amount of $282,299.56. This money will go towards the purchase of one travel bus and two cargo vans to be used strictly for student travel and not normal home to school transportation. Murray reflected about the donor's memories of traveling for athletics when he lived in Blythe many years earlier. He reflected on how the buses and vans were so run down, they would almost always break down on the road. Now that he is in a position to help, he wants to ensure that our present day students do not have similar memories.

Now this is what I have been talking about(this means you twin palms graduate). People should put their money were their mouth is. It is truly refreshing to see someone who puts the needs of others first. It may seem like a lot of money to some, but those who will benefit "it's priceless". Now let us make sure the administration under stands who this money is truly for.

Thank you for your kindness and giving back to Blythe. I wish all PVHS alumni cared as much as u do. Thanks for putting your money where your mouth is, and remaining anonymous really does speak volumes. Some talk the talk and that's all - u r truly a unique individual and have stepped up to the plate and walked the walk. May God bless you.

Wow!...A big THANK YOU to the alumni donor!...I'm sure what you have just done will help to create many fond memories for years to come...I can remember some of the road trips we took back in the 70's were some of the fondest memories of being with my friends as we went through school...Palo Verde High School was a great life and learning experience for me and many others...We formed many life long bonds and friendships as we went through school...This can be seen at our Annual Homecoming events we have here in our small community...and even though some of them don't live here anymore they still call Blythe HOME!...Go Yellow Jackets! What a great gesture on the part of this donor. I well remember the long, arduous athletic bus trips that we had to endure in order to compete. Also, unfortunately, I also experienced some of the break-downs as well, but I would not trade that experience for anything. That which does not kill you only serves to make you stronger. But, these new vehicles will enhance the experience.
