This is great. Kids desperately need to learn to treat people with compassion. May I suggest, however, that compassion is acceptable 12 months of the year. In the past 12 years, I have noticed there are many groups crowd around the place at Christmas time. Great. The people, however, are there 24/7, and a smiling face, a touch on the shoulder can mean so much. You may not get much of a visible response in some cases, but know that your hearts have touched. Just realize that could, sometime, be YOU and realize any kindness is loved. Congratulations, kids, and think about it. When I was sponsoring Key Club -in the olden days- we went weekly, with just a small group of us, but we went as pairs and we carried no gifts but ourselves, and the kids chatted with some, or merely talked to some, with a smile, and a pat on the shoulder. You'll be surprised at the feeling YOU get back, too.
