BLYTHE - Thirteen bands will perform on two different stages beginning the morning of Jan. 17 at the 27th Annual Blythe Bluegrass Festival, to be held at the Colorado River Fairgrounds.

The three-day show, Jan. 17-19, is presented by the Blythe Area Chamber of Commerce, opens at 8:45 a.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

"This is one of the largest Bluegrass festivals west of the Mississippi River," said Chamber representative Kady Vega. "Come out and be a part of a really great Blythe event."

Vega said there are over 400 pre-registered campers attending the show and there will be a free Saturday night dance featuring the Tim Burt and the Joe Johnson Band.

There will also be a Bluegrass Quilt Show, 15 international food vendors and free valley tours today and Thursday.

The Bluegrass Festival is the Chamber's most important single fundraiser event of the year and the largest economic event for Blythe and the valley.

Price for admission is $50 for three days and $20 a night for dry camping. Daily admission fee is $20 each person, per day, for Friday and Saturday, and $15 per person on Sunday.
