Man shot in the leg in Blythe alley
Special to the Times

A man was shot in the leg in an alley south of the 100 block of W. Hobsonway in Blythe around 11 p.m. last Friday.

The 42-year-old man reported he was riding his bicycle eastbound in the alleyway when he heard a gunshot. Realizing he had been struck in the leg, he rode to the 100 block of S. Broadway to seek help.

Blythe Ambulance responded and began treatment. The man was transported to the Blythe Airport and was flown to a hospital for further treatment.

Blythe Police, along with officers of the California Highway Patrol and deputies of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, searched the area but did not locate any possible suspects. A witness who had been talking to the victim prior to the incident was contacted and interviewed.

The investigation in this case is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Blythe Police Detectives at 922-6111 or they can give their information anonymously by calling Crime Stop at 921-CARE (2273) or by email at

@ F P B. Thanks for the nomination. If I become Mayor, I still will not let party at the park without insurance. And I know who you are too. So lets meet near the place where they shot this person. OK?

Go on google maps and type 100 West Hobson way and click on it, then drag little yellow man to that location, look around you see man on bike.

OK, so what is the thought process here? Random, targeted, or accidently shot? Or will there be a possibility of more random people being shot?

Not being funny here. Now. But we have a dysfunctional Police Department, Hospital, and a City council to boot.

Or is someone holding things back ? So what happen to those cameras that were to be installed on some City streets? You know a few years or so back? Nothing much was reported after the initial reporting.
