BLYTHE - Two cars collided at 4:44 p.m. on April 13, at the Five-Points area north of Quechan.
Blythe Police officers responded to a report of a traffic collision on the river road south of the "Five Points" area adjacent to the Colorado River.
When officers arrived, they found two vehicles that had collided head on while coming around a curve in the dirt road north of Quechan Park.
Both vehicles, one a black Chrysler Pacifica driven by Timothy Woods, 35, of Blythe, and the other a black Nissan Maxima driven by Kolby Robertson, 19, of Blythe, had major damage and had to be towed from the scene.
When officers arrived, the driver of the Pacifica reported that the single passenger in his vehicle had been injured and was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Neither of the drivers or the single passenger in the Maxima was injured. The injured passenger was treated at Palo Verde Hospital and released.
While the cause of the collision remains under investigation, police noted that the area where the vehicles collided is a blind curve and believe this could have contributed to the collision. Officers reported that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
