Special to the Times

BLYTHE - Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (CVSP) vocational instructors, along with the inmate students, worked non-stop on the construction of fair projects for the Colorado River Fair.

The theme for the 2013's Fair, "Fun-Tier Days" was the inspiration for this year's project. The project was constructed from recycled and donated materials.

As part of the Blythe community, CVSP annually contributes fair projects specific to the fair theme. Additionally, they contribute projects, to the 4-H and FFA Livestock Programs.

CVSP Acting Warden A.M. Gonzales said, "The projects not only benefit the Blythe community, they also support the department's mission pursuant to rehabilitative programs. Inmate students learn the concept of teamwork, and take pride in their personal contributions to the projects."
