BLYTHE - AltaGas, Blythe Energy owner, donated a Ford Explorer to Palo Verde High School JROTC program Dec. 12.

In keeping with the company's promise of being a part of the community, AltaGas gave the youth program a vehicle that would be able to pull a trailer with equipment JROTC uses at various competitions and retreats.

Previously, AltaGas supported Palo Verde College's Automotive program and the Blythe Area Chamber of Commerce's Bluegrass Festival, as well as meet with community leaders. It was through this meeting, AltaGas learned about the JROTC program and believed that the truck donation seemed fitting.

Article comment by: A Proud Cadet Mom

As a proud mom of 3 JROTC Cadets (2 Current, 1 Former) I can tell you what a wonderful program it is. The Advisors MSgt. Walker and Sgt. McBride are dedicated to their cadets, and the cadets are dedicated to them. They have given all 3 of my kids that little extra push to succeed and the tough love that goes along with it. Having interacted with many of the Cadets they are polite and respectful, I give Kudos to the parents as well as the advisors. And to any cadets who might read this... we as parents and adults notice your behavior and are so very proud of all of you! P.S. vote for my daughter for military ball queen.

Awesome! JROTC is the best thing to ever happen to PVUSD. Lets see how long it takes for MOT to take away this vehicle from JROTC like they took away their vans.
