The other post about Measure H says there are still 236 ballots to count. How is it that PVVT declares these people to be the winners with that many not included?

However, it is hard to fathom the three new councilmen can reach compromises.

I can't believe it! Not even ONE write-in vote for Mr. Dunbar? And the same for Mr. Eubanks? Outrageous! Two of the finest, most far reaching intellects I've ever read and we squander away an opportunity to avail ourselves of that by failing to 'draft' them?? For shame, for shame Blythonians! When, oh when, will we ever learn. Genius will not avail itself...it must be compelled.

I got a question....When I was voting Mr.goose (guith) walked in the voting area I dont know the rules but I dont think thats to fair to have a person that is on the ballet standing in the room where the voting is going on..I guess only in blythe you can fix an election to go your way. People should really look in to this and make some kind of rule next election cause I think that is a bunch of Bull.....! Good move Goose way to get extra votes by hanging out by the voting poles all day. Maybe you should run for mayor

I hope Norm Guith will continue to call out people who are doing the wrong thing and not wait until his seat is up to speak out! Could of gone with seeing him leave the school board what has he done?

The Zig Zag Man (Blythe Transient
Congratulations Sam Patel and all the other winners. Instead of complaining about the candidates that won a seat in City Council, Stop bitching and get elected yourself if you think you have what it takes to help the City. It seems like for ever no one has figured out how to run the city, crime is high, the drug use is high, the graffiti problem. So those that complain.
Let me leave you with a little quote from Plato. Google Plato if you need to.
"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors"
and this one apply's too.
"This City is what it is because our citizens are what they are"

Facts--a rarity, I know
Obviously this info is too late to matter, but Blythe's 10% TOT is in line with the bulk of other CA cities (at least before any ballot measures passed yesterday). A TOT of 13% would put Blythe in the top 11 cities in all of CA, alongside Del Mar, Solano and Garden Grove. Banning's TOT before their vote was 6% (nearly the lowest in Riverside county). They were actually behind the curve and although I don't know what the new rate is, I'm sure Banning is now closer to other CA cities.

YESSSS! Now maybe the leaders will wise up. I don't totally agree with all winners but we will need to support them. Congrats to all winners. Ulmer is a genuine person with no agenda and way to go blythians. Change is good for those with no agenda. For those in this town with agenda's - we're done with it. We need some unique ideas and not the same old junk. Like the last election - the people have spoken - so this community needs to get behind these leaders and do something constructive for a change. The new leaders need to start now with committees to set some goals and listen for new ideas.

to "the end is here": You know it won't take very long before the tourists that help support this town figure out they are getting gouged and they will take their business to another town that appreciates the money they bring in. That is when we all should start looking for a new town to live in. As for Banning, I will avoid their motels/hotels, thanks for the heads up!
