14th Annual Party in the park

QUARTZSITE - Celia's Rainbow Gardens will be holding its 14th annual Party in the Park to celebrate the Gardens and thank all the volunteers who have helped make it such a beautiful place to visit.

The party will start at noon at the pavilion in the Town Park on Plymouth Rd. There will be cheeseburgers, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, beans, drinks and desserts. There will be no charge for the lunch but donation cans will be set out if anyone wishes to help with the cost of the meal.

Entertainment will be provided by the Goodtime Grandpas and Grandma, a local country and western band that played last year and also at the spaghetti dinner, and some of whose members have been playing at the parties for several years in the Still waters band. Paul Winer will also perform some boogie woogie blues piano and sing.

A raffle will also be held to help with the cost, with lots of great prizes including two very collectable porcelain dolls of Jackie Onassis and Princess Diana, donated for this event by Mary Jo Soules, and a handmade table runner and placemats made and donated by Jean Winters, as well as other great prizes. Tickets will be $1 each.

Bring your chairs and your appetites, and come on out and enjoy some delicious food, great music and tour the Gardens if you have time.

This party is a way to show everyone how much their support for the Gardens is greatly appreciated and hopefully get more people involved in the work being done on this project.

Art Show and Sale March 12 and 13 in Quartzsite
By Joanne Winer, QUARTZSITE TIMES

QUARTZSITE - The Quartzsite Art Guild will be holding its annual Art Show and Sale at the Senior Citizens Center on Moon Mountain Road in Quartzsite on March 12 and 13, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Many local artists will have tables set up in the dance hall with samples of their artwork - paintings, sculptures, pencil sketches and much more. These very talented artists had a great showing at last year's event, and hope for even more people to come this year to see what they have been working so hard to put together for this one of a kind show.

There will be a raffle held at the event, with prizes of greeting cards made by the artists.

Hourly free door prizes will also be given out. The admission is free, so come on out and meet these very talented people and perhaps purchase one of their art pieces for your home or office. For further information, please call Abigail at 928-927-5118.
