BLYTHE - Recently the Palo Verde Valley Quilt Guild completed and donated five quilts to "It's My Very Own" Bags of Love under the direction of Barbara Lindsey (right). The quilt guild heard of Linsdsay's plight to deliver at least 50 bags to the local Riverside County Child Protective Service by early December. The group, which is community-oriented, set about to aid "Bags of Love" by making bright colored, age appropriate quilts to be placed in the duffle bags that will be provided to children ages infants to 17 who are placed in foster homes. Pictured left to right are PVV Quilt Guild members, Rachel Warner, Lurline Davis, Secretary Joann Bradley, Chairperson Espie Cota, and Bags of Love director Lindsay. For more information of "It's My Very Own" Bags of Love, contact Lindsay at 760-922-9858 or write 10310 8th Ave., Blythe, CA 92225. To learn more about Palo Verde Quilt Guild, the group meets the first Thursday of month at Baldwin Apartments located at the east end of Barnard Ave.
