BLYTHE - Blythe Police Chief Steve Smith and members of Citizens on Patrol (COPs) took delivery of a cruiser that was painted just for COPS Nov. 16. Chuckawalla Valley State Prison (CVSP) inmates in the auto body vocational class stripped the vehicle and filled in the dents. The original unit was an unmarked car that was no longer in continuous use. The newly painted vehicle will be completely finished once it is fitted with an amber light bar and radio. CVSP Vocational Department offers their services and resources to governmental agencies, for more information contact PIO Lt. Richard Smith at 760-922-9710. "Really??" like how? maybe they could have used it to cover up the remaining graffiti the business owners are to lazy to cover up.Who knows. Maybe the volunteers that will drive it will catch the next rash of thugs spraying our town. Way to go CVSP!

Is a painted a cop cruiser w/ graphics really necessary? I'm sure that CVSP Vocational Department could've offered their services and resources in another way. There are so many ways that paint could have been used in this town.
